Fax Machines
Fax machines are located in the Administrative and Support Services areas on the Spokane campus and are for business use only. If personal faxes are sent, please check with the Finance Office (220AB) for the reimbursement rate. The Yakima campus has a fax machine in the workroom. In Tri-Cities, faxes are directed to the campus operator who notifies the individual of the fax arrival and puts it in the appropriate mailbox.
Telephone and Voicemail
The telephone system installed at Spokane, Vancouver, Tri-Cities, and Yakima is a digital system and has several built-in features including call forwarding, voicemail, automatic call back and three-way conference capabilities. The instruction booklet in each office explains the telephone system. For tips on how to use the telephone, refer to the "Telephone and Voice Mail Tutorial" further in this section.
Conference/Speaker Phones
Conference/speaker phones are available for faculty and staff use in conference rooms and some classrooms. Long distance calls require an authorization code. To obtain an authorization code, contact the ICN Help Desk.
If the room you are calling from does not already have a conference/speaker phone, contact the Multimedia Lab Office to reserve one. ICN faculty and staff who are not based in Spokane should contact the appropriate campus office for availability of teleconference and speaker phones.
Security Telephone
A telephone has been installed outside the main entrance of the Spokane building for faculty and staff safety and protection. All faculty/staff office keys open the telephone box.
Call procedures:
- To reach a custodian when the building is locked -- DIAL 9 plus one of the custodians' numbers posted inside the box.
- To place an emergency call -- DIAL 9 plus 911.
- To make a local call -- DIAL 9 plus the seven-digit
number. Long distance calls cannot be made from this
phone.
Similar security telephones are available at Yakima, Vancouver, and Tri-Cities. Contact the appropriate office to help identify the location of those devices.
Authorization Code
Calls to Pullman, Spokane, Vancouver, Tri-Cities, and Yakima campuses should be made using the 5-digit dialing and are not long distance. In some offices, an authorization code is required for long distance calls to locations other than those sites. To obtain an authorization code, contact the ICN Help Desk. Authorization codes must be requested PRIOR TO YOUR CALL.
Tri-Cities and Vancouver faculty and staff may request authorization codes from their respective campus’ Information Services.
Calling Cards
An AT&T Calling Card may be issued to faculty and staff to be used for placing long distance calls when away from one of the College of Nursing or WSU facilities. Tri-Cities and Vancouver faculty and staff may request calling cards from their respective campus’ Information Services.
