ProQuest: INDEXING & ARTICLES
To search outside the library (from home, etc.) you’ll need to know your WSU Network ID, and may want your e-mail address. From the Intercollegiate College of Nursing Library home page, choose the Indexes/Electronic Journals link.
Under Article Indexes and Other
Databases A to Z, choose *ProQuest
Direct. For nursing purposes, there are several of the ProQuest databases which are more useful than others. Choose them this way: Near the top of the screen, click on Databases selected. Choose Clear all databases.
Place a
ProQuest Medical Library Combines MEDLINE indexing with full images for more coverage Research Library (NOT complete or newspapers) Search scholarly periodicals.
Press
These databases all contain some health-related
journals. If you are searching for news or
current events information, Advanced Search lets you search citations and abstracts, publication titles, and author’s names. Once you have some experience with the indexing, you may try using the Subject box, but the results are not predictable and consistent. To add more search boxes, press Add a row
You can also choose the dates of publication,
some types of articles, etc. When you have a list of results, rapidly view entire articles by clicking on the blue underlined title, or on Full text. To view a photocopy, click on Page Image - PDF Read, print, or e-mail the articles as you wish. Be sure to find and follow the on-screen instructions for the function you are performing.
